My first children's book, "The Wedding of the Mouse: An Asian Folktale," will be in print on November 1, 2006! This will also be the first book for the publisher, Playground Press LLC. My agent, Kathy Suhr and I started the company this fall. We have waited long enough to be discovered, it is time to take our fate into our own hands! Books can be purschased through my website. Please contact me through the contact tab on my home page. A new store tab is in the works!
The Downer Avenue Schwartz Bookstore, on Milwaukee's Eastside, will host a reception and book signing for the "Milwaukee Sketchbook," at 7 pm on Friday, September 8, 2006. Many of the artists, as well as the author, will be present to share their experiences. Please join us!
I am sorry to report that "Pieces," the shop in the Third Ward that carries my artwork, will be closing June 1, 2006. I wish the owners the very best of luck on their new endeavor.
This year I have donated a framed work entitled: "Don't Sweat the Little Things" to the 2006 Channel 10/36 Auction. The piece comes from my children's book: "The Wedding of the Mouse: An Asian Folktale," which I plan to publish in the near future. The auction traditionally airs in May. The work will be available for viewing before the auction at 12560 W Townsend Street in Brookfield.
The long awaited "Milwaukee Sketchbook" was finally released in early 2006! The coffee table book contains 10 of my pieces, not including the front and back cover flaps. It is being launched by Schwartz Bookstores and is also available on Amazon.com.
Shortly before the 2006 New Year I completed two more fine arts pieces for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Each work highlights a highly coveted award for excellence. The first is the "Joint Commission Award" for high quality patient care and the second is the "Level 1 Trauma Award" for their comprehensive, quality trauma center. These works will join my previous piece, the "Magnet Award" in the upper lobby at the end of the Skywalk, and will be on permanent display.
On Saturday, December 3, the Elm Grove Women's Club, 13885 Watertown Plank Road, will hold their 2005 Chandelier Ball. My work entitled "Oursi's Christmas" will be up for auction. Proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army.
The October 27-28, 2005 Gallery Night is fast approaching. My artwork will be featured at Pieces, on North Milwaukee Street, in Milwaukee's Third Ward. Please join us from 5-9 PM on Friday and all day Saturday. Come on out and enjoy the fine fall weather!
Early in 2004 the Walworth County Democratic Party, in which my mother, Joanne Williams, is proudly active, asked me to design a piece of artwork for their fall auction. My work entitled "Resurrection or Decay?" was created especially for this purpose. In 2005 I designed another piece, aptly called "Peace." It was the item that fetched the highest price at the auction! I fear and delight that this may become an annual activity for me, at least as long as my mother is involved!
During the month of May 2005 my work will be on display at the new One Way Cafe and Gallery in Wauwatosa. The street address is 1225 Underwood Avenue. Enjoy a specialty coffee or homemade deli salad while you browse!
Beginning in May 2005 my work will be available at a brand-new store in the Third Ward called Pieces. Located at 240 N Milwaukee Street, the owners, Shay and Joel Sherfinski, will be offering custom contemporary furniture and eclectic accessories, as well as local artwork. Please stop by and support these hard-working young entrepreneurs!
Check out the lobby of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for a fine arts piece I did to celebrate their new "Magnet Award." This designation is given to only a few hospitals nationwide, for excellence in nursing. The work was commissioned in February 2005 and is expected to be on permanent display.
On a personal note, Gordon Mueller, the love of my life, and I, became engaged on December 12, 2004. We plan to be married at his home in Glendale on May 15, 2005. This date is particularly special to us because my brother, Capt. Lawrence Williams of the 436th MCB in Kuwait, will be home on leave for the occasion!
The official release date for the "Milwaukee Sketchbook" has been delayed for the third time. The new release date is expected to be early summer of 2005. All collaborating artists are looking forward to it's launch!
On October 12, 2004, Nova Cena Cafe & Bakery, located at 241 North Broadway, in the Third Ward, accepted 15 pieces of my artwork for indefinite display. One piece was sold and four stolen in the first month! I take it as a personal compliment that someone thought my work valuable enough to steal. The missing works are entitled: "Animal Magnetism," "Somnambulism, "Sea Turtles" and "Summerfest." Who knows, some day these may have a value greater than we know! Early in March 2005 the Cafe was sold, so my show ended 3-4-05.
The Window Box, W359 N5002 Brown St, Ste. E, Oconomowoc, located on the northeast corner of Hwy 16 and P North, took delivery of 18 framed and unframed works to sell in their brand-new store. Yvette Livingston, proprietor, is looking forward to planning a "meet the artist" tea in the New Year, you are all invited! (You may remember Yvette's beautiful shop at Downer Ave., on Milwaukee's Eastside.)
Children ’s
Hospital of Wisconsin
will feature my work in their Skywalk Gallery from Saturday, July
3 to Saturday, August 7, 2004. Stop by and check it out!
Kathy Kapsos Suhr has joined my team as my agent
and representative. She recently sold her lucrative land services
company and will concentrate on bringing me to market. I am very
excited about this new merger and I think you will see the fruits
of her labor very soon! Kathy can be reached at KTSuhr@aol.com

Indigo Publishing is slated to release a new book
entitled "Milwaukee Sketchbook" in October of 2004. Look for a number

My Senior Thesis & Portfolio Show will run
in the Layton Gallery on the campus of the Milwaukee Institute
of Art and Design from April 14-May 15, 2004. All graduating seniors
will be displaying their work. It is a wonderful opportunity to
see what MIAD artists can do!
Join the MIAD Illustrators for our Monster Truck Rally
Fish Fry and Gallery Show on February 27, 2004, at the
Gallery 326. My piece, entitled "Celtic Dragon," will be on display
with a number of works from other talented Illustrators through
March 13, 2004.
This past fall 2002 I completed my first professional
brochure. Metropolitan Title Company commissioned me to design
their new rate sheet for their title insurance products.
See the original art for my first published work, "The Great Circus Train" 2002 poster, for 2002 Circus Parade, in
the Student Gallery at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design all summer of 2002. It was selected as a MIAD Merit Scholarship
featured piece. The printed poster, along with another I submitted,
will be on display at the Grand Avenue Mall for the duration of
the summer.
